PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald)—The National Assembly this morning unanimously approved the draft national budget law for 2016 by the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) after the 55 members of the opposition party, Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), boycotted the plenary session.
The 2016 budget law consisted 16 articles has allocated budgets increase for national defense, security sectors and education sector, especially the 2016 budget law will allow government to extremely increase pay raise for civil servants, military and teachers.
Prime Minister Hun
Sen who attended the plenary session to vote for the law said that the 2016
budget law was prepared at the context that the kingdom of Cambodia is in a
peaceful and national unity.
The premier added that the 2016 budget law will give government opportunities to continue developing priority sector especially the 2016 budget law approved today also cancel the road taxes for motorbikes and other light-scale agricultural machinery to boost up agricultural sectors.
