PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald)—Cambodia’s Ministry of Information is planning to create an e-archive in early 2016 with an estimated cost of some US$5 million, according to the State News Agency-AKP.
The information was revealed by Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith at the closing ceremony of a workshop on “Digital Future and International Collaborative” held at the ministry early this week.
The ministry will also train its relevant officials on photo and voice documentary arrangement and data management system, he added.
Meanwhile, the ministry is also seeking funds to switch the broadcasting from analog to digital, said Khieu Kanharith, stressing that it would cost hundreds of U.S. dollars.
According to Phos Sovann, Director General of Information and Broadcasting Department, Ministry of Information, the transition from analog to digital broadcasts is expected to complete by 2023.
