PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald)—Prime Minister Hun Sen held talks here yesterday at the Peace Palace with visiting Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Hungary László Kövér, reported state news agency-AKP.
On the occasion, László Kövér informed Premier Hun Sen of this first visit to Cambodia, the purpose of which, he said, is to boost the cooperation between the two countries based on the existing relationship, Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian premier, told reporters after the meeting.
The Hungarian NA speaker further underlined that his country is willing to promote the bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade and economy with Cambodia, adding that the Hungarian foreign minister will pay a visit to Cambodia later this year, during which trade and tourism cooperation agreements would be signed and Hungary’s trade promotion office in Phnom Penh would be inaugurated.
For his part, Prime Minister thanked Hungary for her assistance to Cambodia, especially in human resource training, and welcomed the promotion of cooperation between the two nations.
Premier Hun Sen also suggested both sides to consider the cooperation between the two legislative bodies, particularly between the two peoples.
